the frequently asked questions page has all the answers to the questions that have been  most frequently asked by our customers, if you can not find answers to your questions, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will happily answer any queries you may have.
What size image should I send?
Our design templates and size guide are listed in the design centre.

Can you print from mobile images?
Yes, just upload the image or email it to us and we will do the rest.

Can you print from Facebook images?
Yes, as long as you have the right to get them printed, just email your image(s) to us and we will do the rest

What file types can I send?
Jpg, Tiff, Psd, Pdf, Raw, Psb (will need sending via wetransfer or brought into the shop) & Word document.

What if my image is too big to upload?
You can send it to us via a third party upload service, we recommend WeTransfer.com

How will my image be cropped?
We will send you a digital proof showing exactly how your image/file will appear on your order before we print it.

How can I send you my image?
You can use our website ‘drop box’ facility* or you can email your image to us and we will do the rest.

Can you print more than one image?
Yes, there is no limit to the number of images you can have printed, although we may advise you if there are too many to be seen clearly.

Can I add text?
Yes, you can add as much text as you wish.

What does ‘Resolution’ mean?
Resolution is the number of pixels/dots that make up your image, every digital image is a collection of coloured dots/pixels and it is the combination of the Red, Green and Blue pixels in your monitor that create the vast range of colours in a digital image/file.

Should my image be CMYK or RGB?
You can send us your file in either RGB (Screen Colours) or CMYK (Printer Colours) and we will do the necessary conversions.

How much does the design service cost?
The service is free if you order from us, if you choose not to order from us, there is a charge of £15.00.

Do I need to bring my own camera?
It is preferable that you bring your own camera as you will be learning how to change the settings to suit what you need to do, if you don’t have your own camera we sometimes have some used cameras for sale that you could buy or hire for the duration of the course.

Can I use my phone?
No – Your phone is not designed to be used in the same way a camera would be.

What ages do you have in the groups?
Our attendees range in age and we have no limits although under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.

What size are the groups?
We never allow the groups to be larger than 10 participants at a time, this ensures that everyone will learn the skills.

How long does the workshop sessions run?
The workshops run for two hours a week, around 50 minutes of theory then a 10 minute break and then one hour of practical/questions.

Do I have to do the exhibition?
No you don’t need to do the exhibition.

What else do I need to bring with me?
You don’t have to bring anything else although we do recommend you buy an A4 ring bound sketchbook to keep notes and drawings in or an A4 folder and paper, you will also need to bring a pen.

Will there be any homework?
There will be some tasks for you to complete in your own time, but nothing that will take more than a few minutes to do.

When will the workshops be running?
The workshops run in the evenings and on Saturday afternoons.

What photographic services do you offer?
At the studio we offer a wide range of photographic services, from family portraiture to studio based product photography, you can contact us at any time for a no obligation quote.

How long will my pictures take to print?
We usually have a turn around of 3 – 5 working days from approval of the designs/images, we will advise you if it is likely to take longer than standard.

How does a family sitting work?
You simply turn up and have fun, we will do the rest.

Can we bring anything with us to a sitting?
You are more than welcome to bring your child’s favourite toys or comfort aids and even a cd of their favorite music to help them relax and enjoy themselves.

Do you have changing rooms?
We do not have dedicated changing rooms – however their is a lockable toilet that you can use to change outfits etc.

How many people can fit in the studio?
The space is small but we can fit several adults and children in the room at one time.

Do you offer portraiture at home?
We can visit your home to take some family photographs but we do recommend having a sitting in our studio wherever possible as the equipment can take up a lot of space.

How soon can we book a sitting?
It may be possible to book a sitting on the same day but we do recommend booking with at least several weeks notice to avoid missing out.

How fast can you print my images?
Our standard service is 3 – 5 working days but we may be able to fast track the job if required.

I am not sure if I have consent from the photographer to print copies, what should I do?
Contact the photographer and confirm that you have consent, if you make copies or instruct a third party to make/print copies without consent you and any third parties are breaking copyright law and can be prosecuted & fined, don’t risk it!

I have had photographs taken by a photographer, I have a copy of the images – can you print them?
We can only print other photographer’s images when you have consent to print copies of your images, if you don’t have consent we will refuse to print them.

Can you print a copy of a photograph?
Yes – we scan it and then print a copy onto any of our products.

What payment options do you offer?
You can pay for your products by using any of the following methods;

In store: Cash, Card, Cheque
Online: Card, PayPal, BACS
At Fayres/fetes: Cash only

How can I order my prints/personalised products?
You can order your prints or personalised products through our website, in store, via email or by text.

Can you print pictures from my phone/tablet?
Yes, although most devices require their software to read the files or recognise the device at all, we are willing to try!

Will small prints be available in the future from The Studio?
Yes – we plan to offer this service in the future.

Do you print small photographs?
We currently do not offer a printing service for large quantities of small prints, however we do offer a single print service for all sizes from A4 or below to 61cm x several meters if required.
